Last updated: July 2026. Applies to “Either/Or AI” and “Compliments AI”. German version: App-Datenschutz.

§2 Data we process

Local storage

Decisions, preferences, and usage settings are stored locally on your device where possible. We do not cloud-sync your personal usage data.

Keychain UUID

A randomly generated UUID may be stored in Apple’s Keychain to manage credit balance. It is not linked to your identity and resets on reinstall.

AI requests (OpenAI)

To provide decision support and generate content, your inputs are sent to the OpenAI API. By default, OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring unless a zero data retention arrangement applies. OpenAI’s own policies also apply.

§3 Compliments AI face data

Compliments AI may temporarily process face images using Apple’s Vision framework and OpenAI’s Vision API. Cropped face images are transmitted solely to generate a compliment. Data is not used for identification or recognition and is not permanently stored by us.

§4 Payments and analytics

In-app purchases are handled via Apple. Paywalls and related analytics may be provided by Superwall, Inc., which processes pseudonymous usage and purchase-related data. We do not sell personal data.

§5 Recipients and international transfers

Recipients may include Apple Inc., OpenAI Inc., and Superwall Inc. Transfers to the USA may rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.

§6 Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Temporary face images are discarded after generation. OpenAI retention follows its API policy (commonly up to 30 days for abuse monitoring unless otherwise agreed).

§7 Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection where applicable. Contact hi@totallyboringai.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority such as LDI NRW.
